ODZIOZO REGATTA I & II
Lake Champlain Yacht Club

Odziozo Regatta I & II
was created in 1983 by Robert Dunn and Robert Penniman following a decision by the Board
of Governors of LCYC to make the Ladies Cup a stand-alone event. In prior years, the
Ladies Cup along with a second race on the following day had provided a two race format
for one of the two Lake Champlain Racing Conference events sponsored by LCYC {the
Commodore MacDonough Race was the other). This year's Odziozo Regatta I & Il will be
the 18th consecutive running..
Racing Area: The racing area will include Lake Champlain and Shelburne Bay
and be bounded by Appletree Race Mark "A " to the north and by Quaker Smith Reef
Buoy to the south.
Course: The courses will
be specified at the Skipper's meeting and signaled from the Race Committee Boat in
accordance with the 1999 Lake Champlain Yacht Club General Sailing Instructions.

The Red Starting Shape for the class just starting
will be the Preparatory Shape for the class preparing to start. Classes flags will be
flown in accordance with the 1999 LCYC General Sailing Instructions.
TimeLimit : 1630 hours
Scoring: The
races will be scored time-on-distance.
Awards: Awards
will be given by the Lake Champlain Yacht Club and the Lake Champlain Racing Conference
for lst, 2nd & 3rd in each class for members of each respective organization.
Protests: Verbally
notify the RC boat after clearing the fInish line. Submit written protest to RC committee
within two hours of finishing. Protests will be heard as soon as possible after the time
limit has expired in accordance with Article 18 of the General Sailing Instruction
Social: Racers
are invited to the LCYC Clubhouse following Odziozo I for an informal get together
Other: Skipper's
Meeting, Saturday at 0915,28 August 1999, at the LCYC Clubhouse.
The Race Committee win be on station at 0945.
The 1999 Lake Champlain Yacht Club General Sailing
Instruction, this Notice of Race, and descriptions of the courses to be sailed will be
available at the LCYC Club House on the day of each race or from the Race Committee Boat
prior to the first warning signal of each race.
Mooring arrangements may be made in advance by
contacting the Head Steward at the Lake Champlain Yacht Club.
The LCYC jib & main adjustment factor will
not apply for the regatta.
