Harbor Breakwater Funded for Repair

Burlington water front during the high water
conditions in the spring of 1996. The breakwater
was completely submerged for several weeks. This
funding should keep this from becoming the low
water picture of Burlington Harbor.

The City of Burlington, Vermont was recently appropriated
$875,000 throughout the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to
repair its deteriorating breakwater. The 4,157 foot long
structure spans Burlington Harbor and was completed by the
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1890
